Homeward bound

08102010

Driving back across Canada was very different to driving across America. The pine forests seemed endless and perhaps we were more heavy hearted as we were technically heading home. However, this did not stop us from having a giggle along the way and Ontario in particular is full of fun places to visit and silly things to spot so here are a few of the highlights.

Discovering the town of Gimli; home to Canada’s earliest Nordic settlers.

The worst motel we stayed in, in the whole trip and our early morning escape breakfast

White River boasts the birthplace of Winne the Pooh and a giant thermometer which recorded the coldest temperature ever in Canada (-72 in case you where wondering)

Another giant statue of a bird!

Discovering how disgusting our car had got!

A day on Winnipeg Beach

& finally, winding our way through the beautiful Algonquin Provincial Park
