Someone else’s day

I am blaming the wedding for my stumbling across the world of blogs. Maybe it was inevitable that on the quest to find beautiful things for our wedding, I would stumble across certain lovely places that provide endless amusement, inspiration and fascination. Places where someone else’s day reminds you why you are working for your own.
Three and a bit months to go and I’ve only just got around to doing the one thing I really wanted to do 12 or so months ago- to write about our wedding and how we made it happen. Forgive me while I spend the next few weeks backtracking, attempting to make up for lost time and chronicling everything my boy and I have put our hearts into over the last year. You might wonder why anyone would want to write about their own wedding. Surely spending every weekend not ticking things of gigantic lists, trawling art stores and tracking down phantom bootsales is quite enough without having to write about it. Its certainly true that wedding planning comes with its share of calamity; during this process I’ve already broken one sewing machine, acquired several (what I would like to call) major glue gun burns, smashed our coffee pot and cut up my curtains. But write about it I will, because it is not someone else’s, its mine and I hope in hindsight to look back on this with amusement, inspiration and endless fascination.
