Bride vs. Invitations

For three months, often into the early hours of the morning, we cut, trimmed, stamped and sewed. Here is a small snapshot of our handmade wedding invitations.

Our wedding was first and foremost about community and bringing people together, miles from their homes and far from technology so that we could all focus on simply enjoying being with each other. I love paper and I love letters. These were my love letters to the people in my life and I am so grateful that so many of them made the journey with us.

Coming to you by way of A Practical Wed … and just wanted to write that these are so beautiful, so simple and lovely and clearly much work went into them! Your whole wedding looked absolutely lovely, too — I love the idea to go to Scotland (one of my favorite places) and marry on the beach, because it felt right. Congrats to you and wishing you all the best for a long and happy marriage.

Thanks Nicole- this takes me back to shouting at my printer and folding origami hearts into the night, many months ago now!

Its funny but we started off with a very different wedding in our heads but something never felt quite right. We decided to start over, prioritising writing the ceremony we wanted first. We took a weekend off, drove for 10 hours, ignored over every other seemingly ‘sensible’ decision and the moment we stood on that beach we knew it was where we needed to be.
