Today my wedding graduate post is up on A Practical Wedding! In a odd sort of way, I feel that we have now come full circle. The APW community was such a hugely inspiring and humbling force throughout all the wedding nonsense you read and think you need. They have built something incredibly powerful and important amidst the madness of the wedding industry and I am grateful that today we get to be a tiny part of of that. Thank you to everyone for their kind words and thank you to Meg and her amazing team for helping me to share the story.

Just came over from APW. My husband and I are theatre people too. He is from Quebec, but I just moved here to Quebec 2 years ago from the US. I moved 6 weeks before our wedding…so I can relate to a number of things you wrote about. :) I hope you guys are adjusting well. What do you do in theatre?

    And this part?
“…and more than grateful to the man I married who, despite having not slept for two days, drove for another forty-eight hours, got us on that plane and held my hand when we had to say goodbye.”

That part hit me dramatically all at once with the emotion of your story. It’s like the emotion of the story of your journey caught up with me there, all at once, surprising me with the suddenness and force of the emotion. I guess your writing made me remember some of my journey too?

Anyhow, thanks for writing your post!

Thanks so much. Its lovely to know that people have gone through similar things and understand how tough it is. I am a director & Billy is a stage manager so our wedding was bound to have its share of theatrics! Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know that you enjoyed reading it- writing it definitely helped a little!
