ICELAND // part one

09042012

Silent beaches, nesting birds, tearing plates, dormant slopes, drawn shutters, silent homes, friendly puppies, giant overcoats, spring melt, golden earth, lingering winter, open road.

Wow, these are so beautiful. I have beef with Iceland (http://www.peoniesandpolaroids.com/2010/04/wrong-holiday.html) but photos like these are kind of pushing me to get over it.

That same volcano (and budget air travel) screwed me over once. Thankfully I have a thing for tectonics, forgave the ash cloud and I can promise you, Iceland is quite possibly the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Also, it’s not as expensive as everyone says as long you don’t want to eat smoked puffin and drink fancy wine… Go, if only so I can see you guys photograph this country properly!
