Two months

Forrest 2 monthsMonth 2 has seen us being a lot more adventurous. We have been tramping about all over London and been on our first long train journey back to Bristol. Neither of us can believe we have a 2 month old and yet at the same time it feels like he has been part of our family forever.
Forrest has definitely started to find his voice and is very good at letting us know what he likes and even better at what he doesn’t. We have some pretty decent conversations at 6am involving a medley of high pitched squeaks and coos. As well as a continued love of baths in any shape or form, he now likes hitting things, putting his hands in his mouth and playing with his new favourite toy- his feet. He has incredibly strong little legs but selective head control. He likes the songs of Bagpuss, Richard Thompson, Ian Dury and The Searchers and prefers riding around on tall people (helpful for his 5ft 3in of a mum).
He is massive. Our baby is weighing over a stone. This week, the doctor politely referred to him as a ‘sizeable lad’.  When I tell strangers that he is only eight weeks, they look at us with the same sympathetic horror. If you love your back, I wouldn’t recommend you pick him up without some considerable weight training first. Believe it or not, this picture is actually slimming.
And lastly, although I have yet to grab it on camera, he can now officially smile (just in the nick of time in the midst of a sleep regression). So yeah, I guess we’ll keep him.
