NYC & Mexico

Walking the High Line

Before heading off on our honeymoon (more on that coming soon), we had a quick 24hr stop over in New York. As well as kindly putting us up in their beautiful Brooklyn brownstone, our lovely friends S & L suggested we take a walk along the High Line. For those of you that don’t know, the High Line is a relatively recent addition to Manhattan. Once an abandoned railway line, this arial garden stretches for a mile from the meat-packing district all the way to 30th street. On a good day it gives you the most amazing views of the city below. Its giant glass street cinema, about half way along, is a particularly good spot to stop and watch the city move below you. We had a wander, a paddle and had some fancy snow cones to cool us down.

There might have been some time for a quick Magnolia bakery pitstop as well. I got up at 7am on the morning of our wedding to make Will some Magnolia Banana Pudding so it seemed only fitting that we seek out the real thing.

New York is a place that offers so much but on this occasion it was wonderful to just slow down, walk a mile and watch the world. A perfect day in favourite places.
